Alas Pilipinas Men secured a bronze medal in the inaugural leg of the 2024 SEA V. League, overcoming a challenging straight-set defeat to Thailand, 26-28, 14-25, 16-25, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. Despite the absence of their experienced team captain and outside hitter Bryan Bagunas, the Filipinos concluded the opening leg with a 1-2 record, showcasing their resilience and competitive spirit. Meanwhile, the Thais, with an undefeated record of 3-0, clinched the gold medal, marking a significant achievement in their volleyball history.

Indonesia, having previously won back-to-back golds in the 2023 edition, settled for the silver medal this time around. Noel Kampton, stepping in for the injured Bagunas, stepped up to the challenge, contributing 10 crucial points. Leo Ordiales and Michaelo Buddin also played vital roles, each adding seven points to the team's tally in the match.

The Thai team's victory was spearheaded by opposite hitter Bhinijdee Napadet and middle blocker Nilsawai Kissada, who each scored 14 points, demonstrating their dominance on the court. Phanram Anurak further supported the team's offensive efforts with 13 points, contributing to their historic first-ever SEA V.League title.
